I...Hi Steven - it is not a night /infra red camera. It is a normal camera like a GoPro which won't show any footage if there is no light. It does however work well in low light (see example http://vimeo.com/85642890). You can turn off the flashing lights for group riding. The premise is that if something happens (like here http://bcove.me/4lz78hdi) the media coverage will start to filter through to motorists to be aware they might be recorded. It's big picture stuff, we know, but big ideas all start from somewhere! No steady mode yet but we will look into it. Hope that answers your queries.
